New Crystals!!!

So I went to LA this past weekend to the jewelry district and after hours of searching through tiny bead shops, I found the one for me! I totally scored huge in this place and have been making new items for upcoming home shows and craft shows. Here are a few samples of what I've made. Sorry for the crappy pix. They were taken late at night after my beading frenzy with my phone :).

Black swap with Night's Requiem :)

I sometimes feel like the old lady on Wedding Singer about my jewelry. Her favorite moment is watching someone enjoy her meatballs and my favorite is getting customer appreciation photos. The swap theme on DIYScene for May was BLACK. I sent Ashley from Nightsrequiem 2 necklaces, 2 bracelets, a fishnet glove, a black and white stars wallet and some black twizzlers :). New items coming soon

So I went to San Diego where I have a really great discount at a few bead stores... needless to say that Chad and I got over $400 worth of beads and supplies for a little over $200. I'm ultra excited about making new stuff. I usually make some plain pieces for everyday wear, but I went a little outside the box and this is what I came up with. I'll be posting once I get a better picture taking area.

So I promised that I would be blogging a lot more a couple months ago... but I've gotten back into a busy streak with work, home, the dog, friends and now I'm helping Chad promote his hot rod shop. Check out the website I made for him at www.everettbros.com. Too bad I haven't had time to work on my own, lol. Someday... Anywho, I'm taking a vacation at the beginning of July. I haven't been back home in over a year and a half, so it'll definitely be nice to catch up on old times with good friends. I hope everyone is doing well and enjoying life. Cheers :)

New Cassette Tape Purse

Tamara aka AllegraB on etsy featured me in an awesome treasury for cassette tapes. In turn, I mentioned that I make custom tape purses if she had any old tapes she wanted to use or I could use my own, anywho, we put our heads together and came up with the idea of wanted some kind of turquoise and brown. So I used a brown handle and strung turquoise and crystals through some holes I made. Here is the final result:

New Ink

So I've been looking for something to cover up my tiger stripes on my left arm... can't stand them. They don't go with anything. So this is what my artist came up with. After almost 6 hours at the shop, this is what I have. Looks like maybe 3 more sessions to go.

LOL another update

So it seems like everytime I post here, it's just to appologize for not posting in a while. So here it goes again, these past few weeks have been so hectic! I've been running around trying to get my car fixed, trying to fit work in there and I've been on the range :(. Anywho, I'll be getting a few items from Karla at HeartSizedCrush soon to model, so I'll be posting pix. Plus, I'm working on finishing 3 dresses for the trades. I've just been soooo behind.

The aftermath

Well, I FINALLY got my google analytics set up, but since my luck isn't always the best, I didn't get it up fixed in time for the 24 hour grace period before it starts working :(. So I don't get to see how many hits I got from TNT last night, but I think it went fairly well.

So far, this weekend is going to be pretty packed for me. My nephew will be having t-ball games in San Diego (about a 45min to hour drive for me) every Saturday, so that's where I will be Saturday morning, then I'm going to swing by the gem mall down there... my heaven... and the rest of the day will be spent in my craft room.

As I posted earlier, I have 2 replica dresses to make, one new style and I did an awesome trade with DukDesigns on etsy for 2 necklaces and a bracelet for this bag :). I can't wait to get it and send hers off! Yay!

Sunday is the Paws In The Park 2009 charity walk for the Escondido Humane Society. Roxy and I will be helping out as much as we can. So far we have raised $100 :). Please check out our page support us here.

New dress

Well, I've been practicing my shirt recon on some ugly shirts laying around the house and finally went searching for some cool ones. I found this shirt at a store and it was marked down because the print on both sides was supposed to be the same, but the back kinda got bunched up during printing and it looks like it has streaks going through the design... I personally thought it was awesome and bought one for myself. I posted it on DIYScene.com and got some good feedback and am actually doing a swap for a replica with Karla from HeartSizedCrush and Kim from PoisonedCreations. Check out their etsy stores!! They have amazing stuffs! Here is the dress I made.

Challenge

I did a challenge on DIYScene.com for a little motivation to get back into making stuff for my shop. I won! I made 10 pairs of earrings, 6 necklaces, 2 rings and a bracelet. Woot!

Hawaii!!!

So I got back from Hawaii last week. I had a BLAST! It was mostly for a work conference, so I got to put a lot of faces to names that I have been working with during this past year. There aren't many people who do my job in the Marine Corps, so when I met a lot of them, I really saw that it's a nice, tight knit community and I love being a part of it. I did a lot of partying and drinking while I was there with those people and I wish I could re-live every second of it. If you dare to take a look at the pictures, they are all posted here. In a hurry

I hate doing things at the last minute, but I can't help myself, lol. I still haven't packed and I leave to Hawaii in less than 2 days. I have to clean my house, clean my car, buy food and toys for my doggie, and pack. I'm not excited.

RECON!

So I got a sewing machine for my bday and put it to work.

I can't wait to find more to recon... my seams are getting a little more straight everyday, but until I'm happy with them, I won't be selling these. If any of the DIYScene members like any of my dresses, I'm willing to trade :)

Hi!!!

Hi everyone! I'm Krissy and i'd like to present to you, *drumroll please!* AbsidyDIY. I'm making jewelry only right now and starting shows and fairs next month. My future plans are to dabble in many things as far as sewing, wood working, home decorating... Etc. The sky is the limit.

A little about me, I'm an active duty Marine stationed in Camp Pendleton, CA. I've been in for almost 6 years now and have gone overseas twice. I'm not going to say I did a whole lot because I didn't. Not that I didn't want to or didn't try, the Marines don't really let females do a whole lot though. Very PC.

Anywho, I'm 23, about to turn 24 on March 2nd, but with how much I've stayed home crafting, you would think I'm 80. LOL. I have a ton of tattoos (I'll post pics later) and I'm very into the pinup/50's style stuff.
